alex carson is an award-winning filmmaker currently pursuing a BFA in Film and Television at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, specializing in documentary and multimedia narrative. Originally from Southwest Missouri, she draws deep inspiration from the Ozarks and the small-town community in which she grew up. Alex comes from a Cajun family with deep roots in South Louisiana, a heritage that informs her perspective and creative work. She is drawn to stories about women, the American South, and marginalized peoples. 

Her films have been recognized at the All-American High School Film Festival, Tallgrass Film Festival, DueMila30, and others. Currently, she works for the NYU Production Office. In Fall 2025, alex served as Associate Director for Tisch New Theater's Fall Cabaret Show, Distance From The Dream: Songs to Face a Vanishing America, which reimagined classic songs from the musical theater canon in the context of today's political climate. Most recently, she interned for Vertigo Entertainment in Los Angeles, gaining hands-on experience in film and television development and production. 

When not working, she can be found roaming museums or searching for the nearest Braum's.
